“Puppy Production” by Artist Leanne Biank

I find the greatest inspiration in the passionate people that surround me and in lingering childhood memories. I can remember as a child visiting my grandmother’s house in Maine and in the back room, where I wasn’t supposed to go without my mother’s permission, standing on guard, against the door, was a small, antique, cast iron, boston terrier door stop. This memory, of the little guard dog, is a precious one to me; filling in the gaps of all the other sights, sounds and smells of my grandmother and her home. But mass-produce these moments in my life and they loose their significance. And like the mass produced dogs at the puppy mills, their lives are worth so much more. Artist Leanne Biank of Pennsylvania
