Wednesdays, Feb 1 - Feb 22: 6-8pm St. Charles Community College Art of Close-Up Photography with Garry Rose. (more info here or call 636-922-8233) 
Discover a new world with close-up photography.  Learn how to produce amazing art images using everyday materials. Everyone will be guessing how you did it!  There is no special equipment needed, this is a hands-on workshop, so bring your camera and creativity.  Students will produce an art portfolio during class sessions.  Prerequisite:  Must know camera functions.
Thursdays, Feb. 2 - March 9, 2017: 6:00 - 8:30 pm. St. Charles Community College Drawing The Foundation of Art with Linda Wilmes,  (more info here or call 636-922-8233) Students will use basic shapes to relate to more complex objects, to simplify the drawing process. The proven method of Sighting, will be used to find proportions, as well as perspective. The basics of drawing will be covered, value, composition, creating a focal point, and perspective. All techniques will be demonstrated by Linda.
 
Mondays, Feb 6 - 27: 9:30 - 12 noon Art Unleashed Watercolor Collage with Linda Wilmes. (more info here or call 314-628-1024) Beginning with painting a watercolor, students will add a variety of textures and color, from leftover ribbon, string, etc. to add greater interest. For the beginner to intermediate watercolorist.
Thursdays, Feb. 21 - March 28, 2017: 6:30 - 9:00 pm St. Charles Community College Basic Watercolor with Linda Wilmes, (more info here or call 636-922-8233)
This class is for the beginner or intermediate student, wanting to brush up on their skills. A variety of subjects will be used, with the basic applications, of wet into wet, dry brush, glazing, etc. While working with a basic palette students will work with color combinations best suited to expressing their work. All applications will be demonstrated by Linda.
Mondays, March 6 - 27, 9:30 - 12 noon. Art Unleashed Creating Special Effects with Watercolor with Linda Wilmes  (more info here or call 314-628-1024)
Discover the special look of mist, rain, clouds, falling water, and a coming storm. For the intermediate student. You will see the beauty of transparent watercolors while painting these effects. For the intermediate watercolorist.

 
Friday night Workshop, 6:30 - 9 p.m. March 17 Art Unleashed Acrylic in Impasto with Linda Wilmes. (more info here or call 314-628-1024) A rather quick and intuitive painting method, resulting in a very interesting and dramatic painting. Super rich color and strong contrast of value, will be used as the instructor demonstrates each area of the painting. For the beginning artist or more advanced.

Street photography is a unique genre of photography.  It doesn't depend on hours of planning, expensive gear or fashionable and trendy locations.  It simply requires a camera and an eye for moments of perfect timing and situations.  This class, which includes two field trips, will sharpen your awareness of life that is going on around you everyday. Class will decide field trip times and dates.

From the start of measuring and proportioning a subject to a given area, to the final rendering, students will discover how to transform an area in home or business, to add atmosphere. For the beginner

 
Mondays, April 10 - May 15: 9:30 - 12 noon Art Unleashed Creating Textures with Watercolor with Linda Wilmes. (more info here or call 314-628-1024) Using various items, color will be lifted, absorbed, moved. Finally with a layer of transparent washes to intensify a given area. Students will paint textures, including peeling paint, rust, items in relief. A variety of applications will be used, as the instructor demonstrates all applications. For the beginner to intermediate watercolorist or acrylic painter. 
 
Tuesdays, May 2- June 6, 6:00 - 8:30 pm., St. Charles Community College Drawing The Foundation of Art with Linda Wilmes,   (more info here or call 636-922-8233)

Starting at the beginning: what supplies to have to make the process more efficient and , comfortable to the artist, to the actual selection of subject through the painting process. For the beginner to intermediate artist.

May 12, 6:30 - 9 pm.  Art Unleashed Painting an Impressionist Landscape in acrylic with Linda Wilmes. (more info here or call 314-628-1024)
All Supplies included, fee $35.00. With still a great attraction to the impressionist painting and techniques, A landscape will be painted, by layering colors and placing the effective color combinations side by side to present to the viewer even a greater combination of colors. For the intermediate artist.

subjects with strategies to get those great candid informal shots.  Explore how to create ideal lighting ind
oors and out and discover how to set your cameras and learn shallow depths of field and color balance to flatter your subjects.  Composition and group photography will also be explored.  Prerequisite:  Must know camera functions.

Using the foolproof sighting method, students will discover drawing any object in a simplified way, resulting in an accurate and appealing finished drawing. Topics covered will be, value, composition, focal point, along with perspective. For the beginning artist and the intermediate, too.
