Juror Statement:
      "Some interesting work. I selected the first place piece, "Mother Eve", for the combination of painting and interesting stitching. I liked the simple control of dye combined with the beautifully understated stitching of "Right Ratio". The "Shihori Blouse" was selected for third place due to it's good dye control and finishing." About the Juror
     Barbara Simon began her textile career as a weaver producing one of a kind wearables and wall pieces and taught weaving classes at Craft Alliance for 20 years. She lectures for local and regional organizations and college and university classes juries and curates textile art exhibits. Her work is exhibited nationally and is in several private collections. She works in her studio and currently has exchanged the structured grid of the loom for the freedom and intuitive possibilities of collage.
