My fascination with the natural world is expressed in my paintings. I see the beauty of nature in birds, their nests, clouds, and roadside landscapes. My paintings celebrate nature’s beauty that I experience daily.
My paintings on dissplay were created using a watercolor pouring technique. This process alternates between applying masking fluid and pouring paint directly on paper. Masking fluid is applied to the paper and acts as a barrier, preserving the surface underneath. Next, watercolor is poured, rather than applied by brush, allowing the paint to mix freely on unmasked areas. I repeat this process of masking and pouring paint six or more times on each painting. After removing the masking fluid, the result is layered glazes of watercolor. ~ Lee Walter
