Missouri's Wild Horses
Photography by Holly Ross
Exhibition Dates: Jan 27, 2024 - April 6, 2024

Photographer Holly Ross

This exhibit features the beauty of the wild horses in Shannon County, MO. The photographs only tell a fraction of the story about the horses. Through several encounters with the horse, the photographer explores the world of the wild horses and allows the viewer to see the horses through the eye of the photographer.

Throughout her life, Holly Ross has been drawn to creating art. Her photography explores many techniques, including low-key and black and white, as well as many genres. Her love for the wild horses of Missouri began in the fall of 2016 while attending a workshop. This love even turned to the adoption of one of the horses. Holly, an Assistant Professor at Jefferson College, hopes to evoke an emotional response in the viewer and convey the message that the wild horses, while technically feral, are an important part of Missouri’s heritage.

Holly Ross is a member of Women in Focus. She is a past member of the St. Louis Arts Chamber of Commerce and Jefferson County Photography Club. Her work has been sold at Hobby Lobby (Spring 23 collection) and published in Midwest Living magazine and Controlled Chaos. View Artist Biography
